BRAND DESIGN    GRAPHIC DESIGN
In May 2023, I was approached by my colleagues who were part of the Indo-Pacific Development Centre team at the Lowy Institute. They had a new project in mind - the creation of a podcast called "Development Futures." As someone with experience in branding and design, they asked me to take on the task of conceptualising and developing the branding for this podcast.
Designing the branding for a podcast involves creating visual elements such as logos, color schemes, typography, and any other graphic assets that will be associated with the podcast. It's important for the branding to effectively communicate the essence of the podcast and attract the target audience.
In this case, since the podcast was focused on development issues within the Indo-Pacific region, the branding needed to reflect themes related to development, innovation, and the diverse cultures and landscapes of the region. Additionally, it needed to align with the overall branding of the Lowy Institute, ensuring consistency across their various projects and initiatives.
My role was to brainstorm ideas, create mock-ups, gather feedback from stakeholders, and refine the design until we arrived at a final concept that everyone was happy with. This process typically involves a lot of collaboration and iteration to ensure that the branding effectively represents the podcast and resonates with its audience.
Once the branding was finalised, it could be applied to various materials such as website graphics, social media profiles, promotional materials, and more, helping to establish a strong and recognisable identity for the Development Futures podcast.
